Language Arts & Reading

Skills worked on in Language Arts are spelling, grammar, and writing. Skills worked on in Reading include fluency, decoding, vocabulary, and comprehension. Spelling words are assigned weekly and are sent home on Mondays in a homework packet and the students are also required to write them in their agenda. We typically read a story each week in reading with the exception of chapter books which may take a little longer to get through. Weekly assessments are given on Fridays for spelling and reading comprehension.
