Mystery Wheel
3rd grade will be working on reading a mystery chapter book to complete requirements for Ga. Performance Standard's Unit Performance Assessment. their mystery wheel during class.
They will be allowed to read and prepare an additional wheel
using a book of their choosing. It needs to be submitted by Dec. 11, 2009.
Information for this project was sent home on Nov. 2nd.

Burns’ Book Challenge

By now your children should have brought information home about the book challenge that we will be doing from now until the Christmas holidays.
The goal is that the children will read as many books as possible between now and then. The books can be on a second grade level or above. I’ve told the children that if they are not sure about a book to bring it in and we will check to see if it is appropriate. I also have books in the classroom that the children can use. Here is the information for the presentation.
The children earn five points per book presentation.
The presentation can be in the form of a book report, display box(shoebox), poster, or other. Everyone earning at least 30 pointswill receive a reward. Anyone earning over 45 points will receive a grand prize. In addition, the minutes will be recorded to be turned in for the Jacket to Jacket school wide reward.
